I’m gonna cut to the chase now, since I’ve been thinking about this subject a lot, so here’s my 2 cents:
“Do you need a Disclaimer?”
Of course you do! I know I’m a bit late when it comes to this disclaimer thing, but I can’t stress this strong enough. Many of you may think it’s not important. But as you grow in beauty blogging, this is one of the thing that shouldn’t be left out.
Because you are responsible for all the things you’ve said or written in the cyber world. Yes, people. Right to the letter.
You may think that since it’s okay with your skin, so it must be the same with everybody else. You assume people will know that beauty products may cause allergic reaction or even other unwanted side effects, right?
No no no…
Your readers are not mind-readers, they can’t read you mind. So that’s why you need to inform them, as clearly as possible. It doesn’t have to be 2 pages long, by the way.
This is my disclaimer, it’s simple and to the point. I don’t like too much yabba-yabba or bertele-tele (like Gibbs from NCIS said), so here it goes:
My freshly made disclaimer for sponsored product review. I know it’s short and I may do an updated version of it (especially for skincare review), but I still want to keep it simple so it’s easier to read and understood.
This is slightly different one, for a product review that I bought myself. My policy is simply being honest. Nothing more, nothing less.
I also added a touch of cuteness there, so it’s not looking too stiff.. ^^ But the meaning is serious, though.
Well then, I hope it helps you and if you need help to generate a disclaimer, you can check this website: http://www.disclosurepolicy.org or simply learn from other blogger's disclaimer. You can take mine as inspiration. However, don’t just copy paste that, you must understand that each blog is unique so you can write it according to your needs.
That’s it for now.. I’ll see you in the next post! ^^
